my name is easter egg

Only the Immortals on their deathless heights

Dwelling beyond the walls of Time and Space,

Masters of living, free from the bonds of Thought,

Who are overseers of Fate and Chance and Will

And experts of the theorem of world-need,

Can see the Idea, the Might that change Time’s course,

Come maned with light from undiscovered worlds,

Hear, while the world toils on with its deep blind heart,

The galloping hooves of the unforeseen event,

Bearing the superhuman rider, near

And, impassive to earth’s din and startled cry,

Return to the silence of the hills of God;

As lightning leaps, as thunder sweeps, they pass

And leave their mark on the trampled breast of Life.

Sri Aurobindo, Savitri 11.37

my name is easter egg. because finding me is a delightful surprise.

something scrumptious is waiting inside but you really won’t know unless you crack it open and see for yourself.

i don’t write or sing or make art to draw attention to myself so much as i do it to crack something open in you — to inspire a deeper clarity, reverence, and appreciation for love itself. because when you really surrender to love, it reveals itself in you in the most mystifying ways. it’s something gooey, it’s something raw, something light, something fluid, shimmering and mind-altering and heart-expanding, intimate and warm and familiar and true. it is home.

my sincere hope is simply to be with you in this love, wherever you are, as present as possible. to refine the loving presence in myself to refine the loving presence in you. i believe an artist is a co-creator to help one another draw closer to love.

my name is easter egg. because i come in every color, and i point to resurrection.

what’s in the easter egg today? i’ve been thinking about kalki. they say he’s the tenth and final incarnation of vishnu, god of preservation and protector of good. i see the avatars, the gods, as real as they are symbolic, archetypal methods themselves designed to inspire and teach us.

kalki is said to be a warrior of absolute, unbullshitable truth, an end-times figure prophesized to bring about the end of the current age of ignorance into a new age of truth, cleanliness, kindness and forgiveness. this is said to occur by 2032.

the very name kalki means “one who possesses filth” — in the sense that one overcomes, transmutes, transforms filth. to this effect, he’s known also as the “annihilator of wickedness.”

so what does it mean to be the annihilator of wickedness? it's simple, really. just be so fiercely loving that all the wickedness of the world can't even touch you.

a thought occurred to me this morning: true love is the best defense against the dark arts. don’t compromise what you know to be true for comforting illusions. don’t be complicit in systems or patterns that you know aren’t truly loving. don't bother with negativity, gossip, news, arguments, within or without. instead, be still and know you are already the peace you seek. know your mission well and let the rest fall away.

this is kalki energy at its essence.

by all means, take this lightly. remember, it's easy! love all! and forgive all! and seek the highest truth always, which always leads to joy. if they misunderstand you, let them. if they understand you and still choose ignorance, let them, and trust that they will learn in time. gallop on your horse of pure white light with fearless conviction. keep practicing joy, until you and joy are one. the light is the most joyful thing there is.

perhaps the most amazing thing about the light is how it never stops shining. it finds its way into everything. it’s unstoppable. find out what this light is in yourself, and be it. the world needs you more than ever. wishing you a basketful of easter eggs, filled with peace love and joy, always and forever. blessings.
